Prevalence of virulence genes among VRE genotypes and their association with clinical outcome

چکیده
Background The dramatic upsurge in the incidence of VRE worldwide had contributed serious concerns in early and specific diagnosis, infection control measures and treatment. There exists a paucity of information regarding VRE genotypes and their virulence genes contributing to disease severity in India. This study determines the prevalence of VRE and the role of four virulence genes in their clinical outcome.

Association of Myeloperoxidase -463 G/A Polymorphism with Clinical Outcome of Helicobacter Pylori infection in Iranian Patients with Gastrointestinal Diseases
Background: Polymorphisms in the immune related genes are important in the clinical outcome of Helicobacter pylori infection. Myeloperoxidase -463 G/A polymorphism has been shown to reduce enzyme expression and activity. Objective: the aim of the present study is to investigate the association of myeloperoxidase G-463A polymor-phism with clinical outcome of Helicobacter pylori infection. Method...
متن کاملSurvey of Virulence Determinants among Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium Isolated from Clinical Specimens of Hospitalized Patients of North west of Iran
Recent data indicates an increasing rate of vancomycin resistance in clinical enterococcal isolates worldwide. The nosocomial enterococci are likely to harbor virulence elements that increase their ability to colonize hospitalized patients. The aim of this study was to characterize virulence determinants in vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) obtained from various clinical sources.During the...

Background: Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic microorganism causing nosocomial infection all over the world .This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of biofilm formation in K. pneumoniae isolated from patients and its correlation with the virulence factors. Materials and Methods: Biochemical tests were used for the identification of K. pneumonia isolated from patients referred to...
متن کاملPrevalence of genotypes in Helicobacter pyloriisolates from patients in eastern Turkey and the association of these genotypes with clinical outcome
There is not much information available regarding the prevalence of the genotypes of Helicobacter pylori isolates in Turkey, particularly in eastern Turkey. The aims of this study were to detect the prevalence of different genotypes of H. pylori in Turkish patients with gastrointestinal complaints and to determine the relationship of these genotypes with clinical outcome and sex. One hundred fo...
متن کاملPrevalence of the Most Common Virulence-Associated Genes among Brucella Melitensis Isolates from Human Blood Cultures in Hamadan Province, West of Iran
Brucellosis is a widespread zoonotic disease causing considerable economic and public health problems. Despite animal vaccination, brucellosis remains endemic in some areas such as Iran, especially in the western Iranian province of Hamadan. We sought to detect some of the most common virulence-associated genes in Brucella isolated from human blood cultures to determine the prevalence of some v...
